Happy 4th of July!

flea market finds

It just so happened I was in Tennessee the weekend of the monthly Nashville Flea Market a few weeks ago!  Some really incredible finds.  Unfortunately most of my faves were a little too large to fit in my suitcase, though I did manage to come home with a mini antique alabaster lamp and a rag rug.

Vintage deck chairs

Antique iron bed

Love the idea of using ladders for shelves!

Double wide bench

Antique wooden twin bed.  Perfect up against a wall as a day bed with loads of pillows!

Vintage movie theater seating

@thepeachtruck tasty Georgia peaches as our midday snack in that intense, high humidity Tennessee heat!

Love these looks

Each one of these looks kills me in a different way.  The texture, the color, the print.  That headdress- so regal and feminine and wild!  And that last look- Spanish, sailor, menswear, oh my.  It’s like a Gabriel Garcia Marquez novel.  Except for its Brazil:)

I love it when the right pieces go to just the right person.  The beauty of vintage, and the beautiful girls who wear it!

Sometimes…when I’m alone in The Beverly Room…I blast a little Florence and dance like a madwoman!  I know this song is a little old, but how insane is this video?!

Flea Market Faves

Candy colored Herman Miller’s.  Lucite magazine rack.  Pistachio french arm chairs.  From the @nycfleamarkets Antiques Garage.

I scored this incredible book last weekend at the flea market…”an A-Z guide to 500 clothing and accessory designers, photographers, models and those iconic individuals who instigated or symbolize a whole fashion movement.”  It’s basically bound wikipedia entries on the most influential people in fashion over the last 150 years and chockfull of gorgeous images.  I finally sat down (with a glass of rose!) to open it up and as I turned the page these beautiful dried flowers fell out.

One of those sweet moments that only happens with belongings that were previously loved by someone before they are loved by you.  That’s the beauty of vintage; there’s always a story.
