Finds of the day: handmade dresses 1940
Such incredible pieces from the 1940s that had been buried in a basement for the last several decades.   I wish I could have met this woman.  Judging from the clothing I was able to rescue she was quite the personality and lead a life well traveled.  Most everything was handmade.  There were satin gowns, and Victorian ruffled overcoats that I unfortunately left behind, damaged beyond repair. ...

Accessories from Espana!

Love Letter to Ferragamo
Walking Dreams Salvatore Ferragamo 1898-1960, one of my most favorite treasures plucked from the shelves of a magical little bookstore in Barcelona.  The cover struck my fancy.  I began to flip through and photographs of not only Katherine Hepburn, Lauren Bacall, Sophia Loren, & Marilyn Monroe won me over, but the shoes!  My goodness I had no idea Ferragamo was as innovative as he was. ...
